Nancy Kelsey, who traveled with her husband Ben and the Bidwell Bartleson Party to California in 1841. She reached California in November of that year with a toddler in tow, have walked or ridden horseback over 2,000 miles in a six month journey. She is the first white woman known to have completed the overland trek.
